U.S. Surgeon General David Satcher (top): "There are far too many children in this country who are not getting a healthy start in life." Satcher, who received an honorary degree from the BU School of Medicine on September 18, talked about increasing the quality of health care for Americans, especially minorities and children. A former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Satcher became surgeon general in February.
