MNL

The MNL is integrated with the Boston University Memory Disorders Research Center at the VA Boston Healthcare System and the VA Boston Neuroimaging Research Center. We work with healthy young and older adults to examine cognitive and brain changes associated with aging.  We also study memory in amnesic patients and individuals with mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease. Using neuroimaging techniques including structural and functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), the MNL focuses on:

  • examining the neural correlates of episodic memory in healthy adults, older adults, and patient populations

  • elucidating age-related changes and individual differences in cognitive and brain function

  • identifying patterns of neuroplasticity subsequent to behavioral intervention (e.g., exercise training)
