Directions
MBTA: Take the Green Line on the B (Boston College) Train west, out of town. Travel three stops past BU Central to the Pleasant Street stop. Just past the Agganis Arena.
The 57 bus stops right outside our door at the Pleasant Street stop (right across from Harry Agganis Way.)
Driving: From town, go past Kenmore Square and follow Commonwealth Avenue west. We are two long blocks past the BU Bridge on the right. Just past the Agganis Arena.
From Mass Pike I-90, take exit 18, the Cambridge-Allston Exit, and bear to the right (Cambridge). At the second light (do not cross the river), turn right onto Storrow Drive. Take the first Exit (Boston University). Go right. You will come to a stop sign. Take another right onto Commonwealth Avenue. Continue two long blocks past the BU Bridge. Just past the Agganis Arena.
Parking: BPT patrons are welcome to park in the lot beneath Harry Agganis Arena next door. Parking is just $2 an hour on most days but may be as much as $25 during concert events (see below.) The lot closes at 11 PM.
Please Note: If there is an event either at the Agganis Arena or Fenway Park, parking is a flat rate which varies depending on the event. Click here to check the Agganis Arena calendar. Click here for more information from the Agganis Arena website in regards to parking fees. You may also park at the Babcock Street lot, or at 808 Commonwealth Ave, across from the BU Bridge. Other metered parking is available along Commonwealth Avenue and side streets.
Accessibility

Boston Playwrights' Theatre wants to make our space available to all theatre-goers. However, our older building does offer some limitations. Please call in advance if you have any questions at 617-353-5443.
Entrance: We have a long ramp up to the front door. Please note that the grade is steep and the threshold is slightly raised. For this reason we encourage anyone with mobility concerns to bring an attendant. The additional ticket will be complimentary. If an attendant is not available, please call in advance, and one of our or our visiting theatres' staff will meet you at the ramp to help you in or out of the theatre. Wheelchair patrons have enjoyed productions at Boston Playwrights' Theatre.
Restroom: One unisex bathroom is accessible.
Seating: All seats are removable at Boston Playwrights' Theatre. If you need extra space, please let us know in advance. Wheelchairs can only be positioned in the front row of either black box space (the Walcott or Odyssey theatres). Please let us know if you use a wheelchair, and we will reserve as many seats near that space as your party requires.
Hearing: Currently we do not offer ASL interpreted productions. Please contact us if you'd like to see this offered in future seasons.
Headset requests: We do not offer headsets, and our actors are typically not miked. The space is intimate, and we are happy to reserve front row seats for you.
Special Chairs: Our seats are made of hard plastic. Patrons suffering from chronic back problems should bring a pillow to increase comfort. Unfortunately, our small aisles do not allow us to bring in larger or more comfortable seating.
Front Row Requests: If for any reason, you can enjoy the performance from only the front row, please let us know directly at 617-353-5443.
