Please join us for the next HDR Seminar on Wednesday, September 25th at 12:00 PM. Daniel Kenta White will present ‘Trajectories of pain and function in knee osteoarthritis: Can we predict who gets worse?’ The presentation will feature understanding risk factors for trajectories among initially pain-free or well-functioning people with knee OA is an area of unmet clinical need. While risk factors for worsening pain and function have been studied in the past, it is unclear to what extent these risk factors are relevant for patterns of the development of pain and functional limitation in knee OA. Another important area of unmet clinical need is providing a tool to determine risk for developing knee pain and functional limitation and which will not. Providing an accurate risk assessment tool would be a major step towards the primary prevention of these major symptoms of knee OA. The overall purpose of this proposal is to better understand trajectories of pain and functional limitation in people with or at high risk of knee OA. Dr. White will be presenting this rationale for a R21 proposal and will be seeking feedback for his approach during the presentation. Lunch will be provided, so please RSVP to Anna Schmidt (aschmid8@bu.edu), if you plan to attend. NOTE: This seminar will be available via webinar. WEBINAR INSTRUCTIONS 1.)
