The Bimolecular Systems Laboratory addresses questions related to how networks of genes and proteins change in response to environmental cues, and how these changes affect cellular phenotype. The changes of immediate interest are those resulting from perturbations by drugs, by infectious agents or by cancer driving mutations. A central core of the lab is involved in the development of the VisANT systems biology platform, and its application to these and other questions. The VisANT system contains millions of relations between genes and proteins, and is a resource used worldwide to visualize and analyze the network properties of cells.
