The Biomedical Engineering Data-Acquisition Laboratory is a biomedical instrumentation facility located at 48 Cummington Street, room 209. It supports the data acquisition and measurement activities of several courses. Each station is outfitted with a Windows workstation containing A/D and D/A boards and software. Each station is also equipped with an oscilloscope, a power supply, a function generator and various other modules for making measurements and conducting experiments. This setup allows students to record a variety of physiologically important signals, including electrocardiograms, blood pressure, and electromyograms; special equipment is also provided for fluids and breathing studies. The space is available for classroom instruction, homework, and research involving data capture and recording.
