The Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB) program provides a roadmap for students to navigate the great many discoveries and breakthrough technologies occurring on an almost daily basis in the biomedical and biotechnological sciences. We prepare our graduates for careers in biomedical, biotechnological, and related sciences, often culminating in entrance to graduate or medical school programs. BMB Program's Commitment of Diversity (updated June 9, 2020): The recent killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor have brought to the forefront the systemic racism that persists in our society. In addition, the COVID-19 pandemic has revealed inequities in our healthcare system that disproportionately affect minority groups. We at the BMB program want to assure our students that we support you without regard to race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status. We will strive to make constructive changes that increase opportunities in academics and research for all underrepresented groups by working closely with the Biology and Chemistry Departments and CAS. We will be better listeners and to that end we plan to schedule very soon a forum for BMB students to let us know their concerns and how we can do better.
