Robin Cotton, Ph.D

Dr. Cotton is the Director of the Biomedical Forensic Sciences Program and teaches courses in Forensic DNA Analysis.

Tara L. Moore, Ph.D
Associate Director

Dr. Moore is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology and teaches courses in Anatomy and Forensic Anthropology.  She has recently completed training sessions with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Human Remains Recovery and Evidence Collection and Analysis. Additionally, she is a co-investigator on several research projects funded by the National Institutes of Health that investigate the effects of age and age-related disease on the brain.

Amy Brodeur, MFS
Assistant Director

Ms. Brodeur is a full-time faculty member teaching in the areas of crime scene investigation and forensic biology.  She has a background in criminalistics and forensic DNA analysis, and has worked in both the private and public sector.  Ms. Brodeur continues to conduct forensic examinations and provide expert testimony on a contractual basis with the Boston Police Department Crime Laboratory.

Adam Hall, MS
Instructor

Mr. Hall is a full-time faculty member and teaches courses in Forensic Chemistry and related disciplines within Forensic Instrumental Analysis. His training in forensic science was obtained at the Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory as well as several courses through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Mr. Hall provides expert testimony related to previous criminal cases throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. His current research projects involve use of Chemical Ionization Mass Spectrometry as well as the use of Biodiesel and E85 as potential ignitable liquids in arson related events.

Catherine Grgicak, Ph.D
Instructor

Dr. Grgicak is a full-time faculty member and teaches courses in forensic DNA analysis.  Her forensic DNA training was obtained at the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences and continued at Cellmark Diagnostics in Germantown MD.  Her current research focuses on optimizing DNA recovery during extraction, development of extraction procedures aimed at detecting and separating cells from multiple sources as well as developing cost effective DNA quantification methods.

David M. Benjamin, Ph.D.
Adjunct Assistant Professor

Dr. Benjamin is a Clinical Pharmacologist & Toxicologist and holds an appointment as Adjunct Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine. He teaches courses in Forensic Toxicology in the Biomedical Forensic Sciences Program and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (Toxicology), the American College of Clinical Pharmacology and the American College of Legal Medicine.

Ms. Kraatz is a Criminalist with the Boston Police Crime Laboratory and teaches courses in Trace Evidence Analysis.

Det. Lt. Richard Lauria
Adjunct Instructor

Det. Lt. Lauria is a 34 year veteran with the Massachusetts State Police. Currently he serves as the Complaint Resolution Officer in their Division of Training and Standards. Det. Lt. Lauria teaches Pattern Evidence Analysis and Forensic Photography.
