masters program

All applicants for admission are required to have a baccalaureate degree in a biological or natural science from an accredited university or have completed course work in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology and/or genetics. In addition, applicants must submit results from the Graduate Record Examination (General Test Only) or the Medical College Admission Test. Our GRE institution code is 3251.

Students admitted into the Program in Biomedical Forensic Sciences must begin their course of study in the fall semester. Students wishing to begin taking classes during the spring or summer semesters may do so as a non-degree student only and apply for admission into the Program for the following fall.

Application for the MS in Biomedical Forensic Sciences is available on-line through the Graduate Medical Sciences Registrars Office. Priority for admission into the Program will be given to applicants whose completed applications are received by March 31st. Completed applications received between April 1st and June 30th will be considered on a rolling basis. Applications received on July 1st or after will be considered for admission the following year. The University participates in the Federal Direct Stafford/Ford Program. Graduate students receive their Direct loans through this program, which has the same loan limits, interest rates, and fees as the Federal Stafford Loan Program.

For the 2007-2008 academic year tuition at the Graduate School is $1092 per credit up to 11 credits per semester. Tuition for 12 or more credits per semester is $17,465 per semester. Full-time students must register for a minimum of 12 credtis. Registration in fewer than 12 credits is considered part-time.
