Jonathan Messerschmidt was awarded the prize for Best Poster at the Northeast Regional Meeting of the American Society for Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (ASBMB). The award will provide funds for Jon to present at the National Meeting of ASBMB in San Diego in April 2018. Jon is a senior majoring in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, and is performing research on the evolutionary origins of the immune system with Tom Gilmore (Professor of Biology). Jon’s research with Dr. Gilmore has been funded by UROP and the Beckman Scholars Program at BU.
