Bioinformatics is increasingly the driving force in genomics and proteomics research. Despite the obvious potential of bioinformatics to accelerate immune system research, the field of immunoinformatics is still in its infancy. The complexity of immune interactions and the data intensive nature of immune research makes immunology a prime area for computational methodologies and concepts that anticipate the interdisciplinary nature of immunology and can readily cope with immune system complexity and diversity.

Objectives
  • High-quality presentations and lively discussions on immunoinformatics

  • To demonstrate to the immunology research community the power of computational methodologies and tools in support of immunology research

  • To present successful examples of data-driven immunology research

  • Bridge the gaps in perception and goals between immunologists, bioinformaticians and computer scientists

Session Topics

  • What's New? From Genomics to Vaccine Design
  • Case Studies: Infectious Disease, SARS, Diabetes, and Allergy
  • Immunoinformatics Resources
  • Allergens
