Update: Bikes not Bombs, a regular affiliate of BU Parking & Transportation Services, recently donated 60 bikes to local school children. Its a great organization and one you should check out if you’re interested in philanthropy, taking a bike maintenance class, or just because you’re interested in what they do. story linked below.

Roll it Forward is the City of Boston’s initiative to collect, repair, and distribute up to 1000 bikes to deserving families in Boston neighborhoods.

Let the staff know your donation is for Roll it Forward.  The bike shops will have a special coupon to thank you for your donation.  *Free bike jerseys are available first-come, first served, in limited sizes to the first participants who donate their bikes.  Reply to this message at to request a copy of the jersey claim form.  You’ll need to take it with you to the shop.
