Hello and welcome to the Boston University Cycling Team web-page. We are a group of dedicated riders interested in reaching our own competitive goals, making a presence in the cycling community, and expanding that community to the students of Boston University. Our member's talents range from cutting corners of a criterium race at 25 mph, navigating the slippery slopes of the mountain, or performing some wicked tricks in front of Marsh Chapel. Whatever your tastes, if it includes a set of wheels, we're sure you can find someone else in the club that shares the same interests.

The club is a member of the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (ECCCCCC.....) which extends from Maine to Pennsylvania. The ECCC is one of ten conferences across the country that sends a limited number of teams and riders to national competitions. The road team has sent representatives to this national competition every single year for the past eight years. The mountain team has also sent some impressive competitors intermittently throughout the past decade.

The road team will begin training this year sometime in October. Our season begins in early March and runs through the beginning of May, with nationals a few weeks later. Our team has pretty lofty goals for the 2007 season, so we would love to have as many people come and train with us. Don't be scared off though, we have a variety of riders at all different levels, from mens/womens A to mens D; its all about having fun, we just thought it would be a little more fun if we made a name for ourselves this year. So whether you want to lead the men's A pack or just go on casual rides with the team and learn how to take your back wheel off, get in contact with us.

The mountain team has races throughout the months of September and October. Because this is so early in the school year, there is not much time for team training; regardless, get in contact with the captain and get ready to have some fun this fall. Cyclocross is not the most popular in the northeast, so there is no official season through the ECCC. However, we do have some riders on the team interested in competing, so write us and maybe we can work out some road trips.

The club, sponsored through Boston University's undergraduate student activities office (SAO) and athletics department (PERD), is run by students with the help of our awesome advisors Tracey Dultz and Tom Duval. We are funded in part by undergraduate student fees as well as our sponsors; please take a look at them so that we can continue to strengthen our team while keep team dues low.

Please contact one of the officers if you have any questions or are interested in coming to one of our meetings. There, you can actually meet us face to face, and we can help you decide what the team can do for you and what you can do for the team. Take care and see you on the road!
