FIRST & SECOND YEAR CURRICULUM
Requirements for the Masters in Medical Anthropology and Cross-Cultural Practice degree include the following:
- Satisfactory completion of 60 credits of course work, to include:
- the seven required core seminars, including the summer fieldwork course (27 credit hours)
- the required Special Project directed study, for writing the student’s final project (4 credit hours)
- 20 credit hours of approved electives in the student’s area of concentration, either from the program electives or from among the electives from the greater Boston University campus
- the remaining credits in other approved electives (which can include the student’s area of concentration) at the 500-level or higher.
- Two years of full-time residence and course work (including summer)
- Five one-day professional-development workshops
- Completion of a 15,000-word MA thesis
