A candidate for a Masters of Public Health
- International Health at the Boston University
School of Public Health, Chioma expressed
an interest in studying the spiritual/religious
and cultural traditions of the African Diaspora,
in part inspired by her own Nigerian/African-American
background. Her interests include examining
the differences between Western health practices
and traditional African health practices,
researching the effectiveness of African/African-based
healing traditions, and integrating these
practices in the health care delivery system.
A long-time student of traditional African
dance, Chioma has also examined the role
of dance and music in African daily life
and healing customs.
