Jualynne Dodson

Jualynne Dodson is a sociologist of religion who holds an Associate Professorship at the University of Colorado, Boulder, in the Department of Ethnic Studies. Her earlier work focused on the African American church and on women's role in the church. For over the past decade, she has led the Afro Atlantic Research team-research teams of American students and faculty-on fieldwork trips to Cuba. She is arguably one of the most knowledgeable American scholars on Cuba's African and African-derived religious traditions. She co-directs collaborative work with Casa del Caribe in Cuba.
