FAQs

Is this different from BUMO? I was part of BUMO, not BU Bands.
Boston University Bands is the current name of the program, formerly known as Boston University Music Organizations (BUMO).
Who plays at the concert?
The Marching Band, Pep Band, Concert Band, Jazz Ensembles, and Wind Ensemble will all be performing at the concert.
Can I play at the concert?
Unfortunately, only current students will be able to perform in the concert due to the limited space on stage in the GSU. However, we’d love to see alumni in the audience to support our current students!
I heard discounted game tickets are now available (July 2022) for Friday night. Where can I purchase these?
You will be emailed a special link to purchase significantly discounted game tickets through the Eventbrite registration page for the 100th Anniversary when you register for the game through Eventbrite. If you have already registered prior to the July 2022 update, please check your email from bands@bu.edu as we have emailed out the link to those who have indicated interest in purchasing a game ticket. If you do not see the email in your inbox, please reach out to bands@bu.edu.
Who can attend each event?
Each event of the BU Bands Centennial Celebration weekend is for all students, alumni, family and friends of the BU Bands program.
What events do I need tickets for?
You will need tickets for everything except the Concert and reception.
Is there a waitlist for events?
Yes, if an event you are interested in is sold out in tickets on Eventbrite, you will be given the opportunity to put your name on a waitlist through Eventbrite and we will notify you individually if tickets become available.
What are the current COVID policies for these events?
Please refer to https://www.bu.edu/covid/ for up-to-date information about Boston University’s COVID-19 policies.

No – Please consider your child’s interest and price of ticket when considering purchasing tickets.
Is there childcare available?
No – We advise you consult care.com should you need childcare.
How can I find out if someone I know is going?
Eventbrite does not support public guest lists, unfortunately. We recommend using and reaching out to your network to reconnect!
Can I participate in just one event or activity?
Yes! You are welcome to register or attend only one event via the Eventbrite link, however we encourage you to take advantage of the multiple events taking place during our Centennial Weekend.
I’m coming straight from the airport to an event, do you have luggage or baggage check?
No – We recommend checking with your hotel or one in the area should you require a place to store your luggage/baggage.
What other events are happening on campus that weekend?
BU Family & Friends Weekend as well as the Head of the Charles Regatta.
Will there be parking available?
We encourage you to take advantage of the MBTA as much as possible, as parking on campus is expected to be limited due to the additional events taking place in Boston that weekend. Please check back for more information on parking in the coming weeks.
I’m not familiar or I don’t remember campus locations. Campus has changed so much. How do I get around?
I want to support the current students - how can I contribute?
Please check out the BU Alumni & Friends website for more information on how to give: Friends of BU Bands/. Support our students through the “Friends of BU Bands” fund!
I am a Brother of Kappa Kappa Psi or Sister of Tau Beta Sigma, will there be any events specifically for these groups (that are affiliated with BU Bands)?
