Boston University Winter Guard

The Boston University Winter Guard is comprised of members of the BU Fall Color Guard (of the BU Marching Band), members of various other BU Bands ensembles, BU students in general, and students from other local colleges in the greater Boston area.

The purpose of the BU Winter Guard is to:

1) Provide a quality indoor color guard experience for all who are interested

2) Provide excellent instruction for all levels of color guard performer, beginner through advanced

3) Work on color guard technique (flag or weapon) in a supportive environment and build skills towards performance

4) Use performance in the late spring semester as an enjoyable goal to work towards

 

Instructor:  Stephen Girard

Practice times:  Wednesdays 6:30-8:30pm (flag) and some Fridays 6:30-8:30pm (weapon, only if interested).  The first rehearsal is Wednesday, Jan 20th 2016.  See the full season calendar here.

Location:  Practices are held at the BU Band Room, Case Gymnasium, or the Track & Tennis Center.

Fee:  There is a $40 fee to join the BU Winter Guard – this covers instruction and equipment, and is non-refundable.

Performance:  The BU Winter Guard intends to perform in exhibition at “Color in the Cage” at UMass Amherst in the spring.
