Seminar Components
The Atlantic Brass Quintet International Brass Quintet Seminar is a two-week program of study for brass students and professionals designed to educate, inform, and develop brass player's advanced musicality, performance technique, and collaborative skills. The program is open to individual brass students, as well as pre-formed brass quintets. Individual participants will be formed into quintets based on their experience and ability. All aspects of the program occur between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, with some evening faculty recitals and master classes. For more information here is a sample schedule of the typical seminar.
Coaching's and Performances
Participant quintets receive two daily coachings, guided by a member of the Atlantic Brass Quintet, Triton Brass Quintet, or guest artist, in preparation for each week's participant concert. After each week's concert, quintets will receive written commentary from their faculty, as well as an opportunity to view a video recording of their performance.
Faculty Concerts and Master classes
The Atlantic Brass Quintet, Triton Brass Quintet, and additional faculty will collaborate each week in open rehearsals, presenting weekly recitals for participants of the seminar. Possible master class formats include discussion groups, orchestral excerpt classes, and solo performance classes.
