Concert Ensembles: Commencement Information

Here is the schedule for Commencement Weekend:

Dormitory housing is available at Warren Towers, 700 Comm. Ave. for Commencement Weekend. Parking is also available for registrants. For those who wish to dress for the Pops, rooms will be available at Warren Towers.

Rehearsal Saturday morning from 9:30am-12:30pm at the Band Room, 278 Comm Ave. Lunch is on your own. Rehearsal Saturday afternoon at 1:30pm will be determined by Ed Madden. The rehearsal will be preparation for the 45-minute pre-commencement concert, marches for the graduates' entrance and exit, and the music to accompany the soloist who will sing during the ceremony.

The Annual Meeting of BUACB to elect officers and encourage discussion about future plans will be held after the rehearsal.

Pops tickets for Saturday night will be available to playing members for $20 each on a first come first served basis. The number of tickets available this year (2008) is very limited. If you wish to bring a guest, tickets will be available at $40 each. Checks should be made out to Boston University. Tickets will be distributed at the conclusion of the Saturday morning rehearsal. Transportation to the Pops is provided on shuttle buses from Warren Towers starting at 7pm. Buses load immediately after the Pops for return to campus.

Parking for the Saturday rehearsal is available in the spaces next to Band room at 278 Babcock Street. Sunday morning the Babcock Street Lot is only for those issued a parking permit by the University because of difficulty walking or the amount of of equipment to be brought to the bandstand. For the rest of us, please car pool and park on the Brookline side of Commonwealth ave. Public transportation on the Green Line is also encouraged. It's free!

You might want to bring music clips, sunglasses, or a hat to the bandstand.

Dress: Please no jeans, shorts, or sandals Men are asked to wear shirts and ties with suit coats and Women are asked to wear equally appropriate attire.
