Early Move-In Information

Do NOT call the Housing Office directly with questions or concerns. They will only tell you to contact the Band office. If your questions or concerns are not addressed below, please contact the director, Chris Parks, directly.

All band members that will be attending the Tanglewood portion of band camp are allowed to move into their permanent BU housing assignments on Monday, August 25 beginning at 4:00-6:00pm. We have met with representatives of the housing department and have come up with the following procedures:

  • The Band Office will be sending a list of all members who are moving in on Monday, August 24, 2009 (4-6pm) to the Office of Housing.
  • It is very important that all band members return their Marching Band registration forms to the Band Office A.S.A.P so the Office of Housing can adequately prepare for your move-in.
  • Please visit the resident assignment page on the student link. There you will find a link to register your move-in date. Since the band has special privilege to move in early and Monday is not an option on this list, we have been instructed to choose the Wednesday option.
  • On Monday August 24, all band members will go to their residence office to check-in and pick up their room keys.
  • Move-in will begin at 4:00pm and end at 6:00pm
  • Because it is a special privilege for the band to move in so early, part of the agreement is that the band will travel to Tanglewood that evening.
  • Please do not call the Office of Housing to confirm your Monday move-in. The Band Office will confirm housing with all the band members and the Office of Housing.

We realize that there is limited time for move-in on Monday, August 24 prior to the beginning of camp. In recent years, some students have traveled to Boston alone on that Monday and been joined by their parents on Friday to spend more time together before the academic year begins. The band will return from Tanglewood on Friday evening. Although there is camp on Saturday and Sunday, anyone that attends the Tanglewood portion of band camp will have Saturday morning off while we hold sessions for those who could not come to Tanglewood.
