Neuroimaging

Electroencephalogram (EEG)

EEG is a noninvasive technique to measure the brain’s electrical activity. We work individually with each family to create a personalized plan for completing the EEG. We work to ensure that the experience is easy and fun!

Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS)

fNIRS, which stands for “functional near-infrared spectroscopy”, is a newer, non-invasive neuroimaging method. This method allows us to measure what the brain is doing naturally during face-to-face social interactions! For fNIRS, small lights are placed on a cap. These lights help us to measure changes in blood flow to different areas of the brain. Learn more about fNIRS here!
