There is a weekly Journal Club (Fridays, 3:00 PM) in room CAS 500. The Journal Club activities offer student presentations and critiques of recent publications, as well as discussions of current national, international, and programmatic trends in the space sciences.
The History of Science Discussion group meets Wednesdays at 3:30 in CAS 500. This is a weekly activity of a volunteer describing a book or magazine article (e.g., in Physics Today) about the foundations of our profession—-how science and things related to science work (now or in the past). The format is for an informal verbal talk (i.e., no PowerPoint allowed) of about 20 minutes, followed by some discussion. We keep to a strict 30 minute total time. Contact Prof. Oppenheim (meerso at bu.edu) for more information.
