History of Science discussion group
This is a weekly activity at which a volunteer describes a book or magazine article (e.g., in Physics Today) about the foundations of our profession — how scienceand things related to science work (now or in the past). We have a very inclusive attitude of what constitutes Science. This is not a “book-club” in that the audience is not required to have read the book to be presented and discussed.
The format is for an informal verbal talk (i.e., no PowerPoint allowed) of about 20 minutes, with coffee and state-of-the-art pastry provided by CSP, and then some discussion. We keep to a strict 30 minute total time.
Please consider sending me the title of a book or article you could present to us. A list of previous discussions can be found here.
