Introductory astronomy courses provide a great opportunity for undergraduates to experience first hand an experimental science. However, too often such courses offer only lectures and textbooks. “Project LITE: Light Inquiry Through Experiments”, an NSF funded project, has been developing hands-on and eyes-on materials, software and curriculum to address this issue for the past 15 years. In this presentation, we will share some of the outcomes of the project. PLEASE BRING YOUR SMART PHONE WITH YOU AND BOOKMARK THE PROJECT LITE WEB SITE ADDRESS: http://lite.bu.edu. Then TURN IT ON: you will use it during the presentation.
