ASOR to offer selected 1875 Dumas photos on holiday cards (all proceeds support the archives initiative)
For a limited time (until December 31, 2009), ASOR is giving its members an opportunity to purchase high-quality holiday cards with selected photos of the Holy Land that were taken in 1875. Thanks to the generous support of an anonymous donor, all of the proceeds from the sale of these cards will go directly to support ASOR's archives initiative. This is a wonderful opportunity to share part of ASOR's history with your friends and family and also support the archives initiative.
ASOR acquired these photographs almost 4 years ago thanks to a generous gift from board chair P.E. MacAllister. All of the photographs were taken in 1875 by Tancrede Dumas for the American Palestine Exploration Society (APES), the society that preceded ASOR. These rare photographs are priceless and cannot be found anywhere else. There are two options for purchase:
