Lindstrom Foundation Student Service Scholarship

We are pleased to announce that the Lindstrom Foundation for Archaeological Research and Development will provide six Student Service Scholarships for transportation and hotel costs incurred while attending the 2008 Annual Meeting in Boston, MA. Scholarships are subject to funding from the Lindstrom Foundation.

Eligibility: Students must be members of ASOR (by Sept. 15) and may be either undergraduates or graduate students. The Scholarships require that recipients provide up to18 hours of service at the Annual Meeting, arranged to accommodate the sessions they would like to attend. Duties may involve assisting at the registration desk, helping Section Chairs with audio-visuals at program sessions, and aiding Program Committee members with other set-up and arrangement needs.

Applying: Interested individuals should send a curriculum vitae and a letter of interest to the ASOR office that summarizes how they will benefit from attending the Meeting. A budget of projected expenses should be included. One letter of recommendation should also be forwarded to the ASOR Boston office at the address listed below. Applications will be accepted through September 15, 2008, and notification of decisions on grant awards will be made within two to four weeks. Dorot Foundation Annual Meeting Travel Scholarships
We are pleased to announce that the Dorot Foundation in Providence, RI will again provide funding for ten or more awards of up to $1000 each for expenses related to travel to and housing at the Annual Meeting.

Eligibility: These scholarships are restricted to graduate students who are American or Canadian permanent residents in PhD programs who have ABD ('all-but-dissertation') status. Preference is usually given to those presenting papers at the Meeting and who have not received a Dorot travel scholarship the previous year. Scholarships are subject to funding from the Dorot Foundation.
