From this page, download a pdf version of ASLLRP Report 6, as well as digitized QuickTime movies exemplifying the grammatical ASL utterances cited in the report. There are 84 example movie files in all, which together require about 106 MB of disk space. Once you have downloaded the pdf document and the movie files, you will be able to click on the movie icons within the pdf file to access the relevant example movie.
In order to make use of these materials, you must have QuickTime (www.apple.com/quicktime) and Acrobat Reader 3.0 or later (www.adobe.com/acrobat), which are available for both Macintosh and non-Macintosh platforms.
To download the materials, first download the pdf file containing the report and then the set of movie files that go with the report, using the links provided below.
If you have a fast connection to the Internet and would like to download our entire on-line digital movie library (there are over 100 movie files available), you can use an ftp program (like Fetch or Anarchie) to perform a multiple download of all the movies in one operation. By anonymous ftp, connect to "schiller.dartmouth.edu/pub/ASL/movies/" (or "louis-xiv.bu.edu/pub/asl/movies/"). From there, you can select all (or some subset) of the files and perform a "multiple get." These movie files can then be used in conjunction with similar pdf documents provided for other ASLLRP publications.

Before you download: If your browser is configured to view pdf and/or QuickTime files via a plug-in, you will need to option-click (Macintosh) or right-click (non-Macintosh) on the links in order to download the file to your local system.
NOTE: If you are using Aladdin's Stuffit Expander software, please make sure you are using a recent version. (If you are using Stuffit Expander 4.5 for Macintosh, make sure its preferences are set to not perform any cross-platform conversion on text files. Download the movie files: The table below lists the examples (in gloss form) for which movies are available. Click on the movie icon(s) next to the example to download the movie(s) (multiple icons indicate that multiple sample movies are available; in some cases, the example is signed by more than one native signer). In some cases, the sample movie may contain vocabulary that is different from the cited example (i.e., a different name, a different noun, etc.); however, the movie still serves to illustrate the relevant construction.
Note that in order for the links within the pdf file to the example movies to function correctly, the movie files must be located in a subfolder/directory named "movies"; the "movies" directory and the pdf document should be located in the same folder/directory.
