Assistant Professor of Persianate and Comparative Literature
Sunil Sharma's areas of expertise are Persian and Urdu literature, South Asian culture, travel writing and gender studies. His most recent book is Amir Khusraw: The Poet of Sultans and Sufis (2005). His translation of the first Urdu travelogue to Europe by an Indian Muslim woman, Atiya Fyzee-Rahamin (1877-1967), will be published shortly with a study of her life and writings.
