Huang Weijia majored in Chinese language and literature and taught classical Chinese in Shaanxi Normal University before coming to the United States. His research interests are the history of Chinese language and Chinese paleography. His publications include The Chinese Language and Culture: An Intermediate Reader (with Qun Ao, 2002), The Knowledge of Chinese Philology (with Qun Ao, forthcoming) and Short Chinese Readings (with Qun Ao, forthcoming).
