Associate Professor of Music and Ethnomusicology
Brita Heimarck's primary area of interest and research
is the shadow play music of Bali, Indonesia, some of which she is currently
transcribing from the oral tradition into Western staff notation (forthcoming). She
also specializes in Indian classical music. Professor Heimarck's
most recent publication is Balinese
