Professor of International Relations and Political Science
Joseph Fewsmith has worked on Chinese elite politics, local governance,
and foreign policy for many years. He is the author of four books,
including China Since Tiananmen: The Politics of Transition (2001) and
Elite Politics in Contemporary China (2001). He is also a
regular contributor to China Leadership Monitor (www.chinaleadershipmonitor.org),
a quarterly on-line journal that analyses the contemporary Chinese political
and economic scene. His articles have appeared in The China
Quarterly, Asian Survey, Orbis, The Journal
of Contemporary China, and elsewhere.
