Assistant Professor of Health Sciences
Kee Chan specializes in using decision-sciences analysis tools to evaluate different screening methods and treatment strategies in improving children’s health. Understanding the costs and benefits of particular effective interventions can help policymakers allocate funds to appropriate programs and make changes to public health policy in developed and developing countries. New directions of her research are aimed to further understand the inter-relationships between genetic, immunologic, cultural, and psychosocial factors involved in affecting children’s health and reducing health disparities. Long-term future goals include conducting comparative studies in evaluating different health care interventions in U.S. and China. Dr. Chan is currently a member of the Boston University faculty committee on implementing a health science program in Asia.
