Master of Science in Arts Administration
The MS in Arts Administration at Boston University's Metropolitan College offers an interdisciplinary curriculum that emphasizes excellence, creativity, economic problem solving, internationalism, and a commitment to the technologies of our age.
The ten-course curriculum is largely focused on the non-profit area, but it is also possible to substitute a limited number of courses with a commercial (for profit) orientation. Students also have the opportunity to specialize by taking courses specifically within certain discipline-based areas.
Arts Administration courses are taught largely by adjunct faculty who are working professionals in the Boston area. Each faculty member has, on average, well over ten years of high-level professional experience in the arts.
Courses take place in the evening, allowing students to earn this valuable credential while continuing to work full time.
- Graduate Certificate in Arts Administration
Graduate Certificate in Arts Administration
The Graduate Certificate in Arts Administration is ideal for practicing and aspiring arts professionals who do not have the time or resources to commit to a full program of graduate study, or who already possess a graduate degree in another field. This certificate may be of particular interest to experienced professionals in related fields who are considering a career change.
The certificate consists of four graduate courses for a total of sixteen credits. Upon completion, interested students may apply for admission to the MS in Arts Administration degree program. If accepted, all certificate credits earned will be applied to the degree program.
Certificate students have access to all the resources of the department and the University, including internship and job placement services, and an extensive network of visual and performing arts organizations that often hire Boston University graduates.
