Mia (Yixuan) Zhu received her B.A. in Art History, focusing on Italian Renaissance and 16-17 Century French Art, as well as a concentration in business administration from the University of Florida in 2018. During her undergraduate studies, she focused on reflection on societal relationships and human interactions through art. She also grew great interests in the role of gender representation in art history. During her undergraduate studies, Mia gained internship experience in both the non-profit and the for-profit sector. Her internships has built her up with training in curating & installation, education programming, as well as marketing and public relations.

Mia’s love for the arts grew while she was a young child. Although both of her parents are engineers, her mother brought her to art museums and encouraged her to take drawing, ballet, and calligraphy classes. She believes in the expressions of humanity through art of all forms, and aspires to promote it through what she learns in the program.

“The variety of courses and knowledge provided by the Boston Arts Administration program has open up new and in-depth perspectives for me to look at arts institutions. I look forward to use the skill sets I gained from the program to support the arts and artists, and become an advocate for the importance of art in people’s lives around the world. “
