Amanda Massie (’18)

Amanda Massie is a graduate of Boston University’s Arts Administration Master’s program. She is a graduate of Pepperdine University’s renowned Theatre Arts Program, where she double majored in Acting and Directing. She has been an active and enthusiastic participant in Los Angeles’s theatre scene, and had her directorial thesis featured in the Los Angeles Times.

Throughout the last few years, she has taken on a managerial role in several arts-based nonprofits, including the acclaimed CRE Outreach in Los Angeles and Theatre by the Blind. She worked to expand and market their children’s theatre programs, developing popular new programming and fundraising strategies. Amanda has also helped to produce several large-scale events, including work for Burberry and Tom Ford.

Amanda currently manages the office at Urban Improv, a Boston-based improvisational theater program, and tirelessly works toward her true passion: advocating for the arts.

Boston University’s Arts Administration program is not only helping me to hone my administration skills, but is also allowing me to explore new areas of interest. The skills I am learning are invaluable, and the variety of courses available help me to curate an experience directly relating to my specific field and career goals.
