CelloBello.org is a non-profit, educational website dedicated to cello pedagogy and innovative musical exchange. It fosters an open online community offering the highest level of artist instruction and interaction. The site has 12 major areas including video CelloLessons (w/foreign language subtitles), CelloBlogs, weekly video CelloChats, CelloStream (livestream concerts and masterclasses), CelloBooks and a database of new works for cello.
All cellists and enthusiasts, regardless of location, race, socio-economic status, or ability level, will have access to the highest level of musical instruction, inspiration, and interaction.
Nurture and strengthen the individual cellist and a global cello community through free online instruction and advice from renowned cellists and teachers.
What We Provide
CelloBello.org is free, accessible to everyone, providing world-class lessons, masterclasses, interviews, and interactive live-streamed chats with renowned artist-teachers from the solo, chamber music, orchestral, and teaching professions. CelloBello is particularly valuable for both students and professionals who may be resource deprived. The site also provides articles, information on jobs and competitions, repertoire and book listings, and additional educational, career, and professional resources.
Who We Are
The Founder and Artistic Director of CelloBello is Paul Katz, former cellist with the Cleveland Quartet and current Professor of Cello at the New England Conservatory in Boston. Additional content and instruction is provided by a long list of internationally renowned professional cellists and teachers who donate their time and expertise. In 2010, cellist Paul Katz launched the CelloBello website in consultation with the Educational Media Foundation of the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) affiliate WGBH Boston.
CelloBello is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are funded entirely by donations.
Job Description (Paid Internship)
-Assist Artistic Director Paul Katz with organization and correspondence
-Attend weekly staff meetings
-Brainstorm with the CelloBello team in areas of marketing, social media presence, fundraising strategies
-Independent, proactive worker, initiative important
-High level writing skills
-Computer savvy. Software skills: Microsoft Office, Asana, Google Drive Web skills: WordPress. A very basic knowledge of HTML / CSS desirable. Social Media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WeChat
Note: CelloBello is currently constructing a Chinese language site. Applicants bilingual in Mandarin and English could be given additional duties.
