Gallagher, associate professor in the BU Pardee School of Global Studies, for a discussion of the transformations that shape emerging markets in the twenty-first century. Gallagher co-directs BU’s Global Economic Governance Initiative and co-coordinates the Pardee School’s Global Development Program. He is the author of the forthcoming book Ruling Capital: Emerging Markets and the Reregulation of Cross-border Finance. He serves on the US Department of State's Advisory Committee for International Economic Policy, is co-chair of the Pardee Task Force on Regulating Capital Flows for Long-run Development, and writes frequently for the Financial Times and The Guardian newspapers. He is currently on leave from Boston University to serve as a visiting scholar in the International Development Program at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University in Washington, DC. Gallagher is working on a new book about China's growing economic role in Latin America.
