In Honor of College Signing Day, Current BU Students and Alums Support Class of 2024 by Sharing Stories Using #WhyIChoseBU
BU Alums and Current Students Welcome Class of 2024 on College Signing Day
Hundreds of Terriers tell entering freshmen why they chose BU
It’s become a rite of spring: each year on May 1, College Signing Day, high school seniors across the country post to social media showcasing the start of the next chapter in their educational journey. To help welcome our newest Terriers, BU reached out to current students and to alums, encouraging them to post a photo of themselves and tell us why they decided to become Terriers, using #WhyIChoseBU. Throughout the day, more than 200 Terriers sporting BU gear posted to the hashtag, sharing stories about their BU experience. The posts reached nearly nine million readers.
Curious about what they said? Take a look at some of the posts below:
Congrats to the new Boston University class of 2024! I want to welcome you to, in my humble opinion, the best college around! I hope you love it as much as I did🎈🎉 #WhyIChoseBU @BU_Tweets #CollegeSigningDay pic.twitter.com/EVGXnBdFoW

I was seeking a home halfway across the world to challenge my perspective on every one of my core beliefs and experiences. I found just that by studying Journalism and Political Science and learning from incredibly driven and kind individuals. #WhyIChoseBU pic.twitter.com/4xXlxDunyE

It rained on my graduation day in 04 @BU_Tweets. But at least I had one. Sorry to the class of ‘20, but it’ll be ok! We all get so much out of college. I studied with Elie Wiesel, and also took a grad level English/Irish poetry class & both were mind blowing! #WhyIChoseBU pic.twitter.com/HufkVMfanv

I still remember going on my tour of BU with my dad, and immediately feeling like I was at home, thanks to a certain sign, Bay State Road, and the atmosphere of students on Comm Ave #WhyIChoseBU #ProudToBU #doubleterrier pic.twitter.com/3SgwthvUsB

I was on the fence about coming to BU when I applied, but now having been here for two years, I have no regrets. Between the school, the people, the city, the memories and so much more, I wouldn’t want my college experience any other way. #WhyIChoseBU🐾 pic.twitter.com/HEM9HLkVxy

Welcome @BU_Tweets Class of 2024! I absolutely loved exploring Boston, taking @COMatBU classes & learning from amazing profs. I met my husband at BU and made some lifelong best friends. I could not have had the individual skill and confidence to write the Official Strategy Guide to #Warzone without my education here.
If you’re looking to get into media, PR, or Advertising, this should be your top school. https://t.co/M5057FnM8p
