There are 8 comments on Male Marijuana Use Might Double the Risk of Partner’s Miscarriage

  1. Thank you for this! Please comment on what you know about how long it takes for a man after he stops using marijuana to clear the DNA effects on his sperm.

  2. Canada’s health watchdog – Health Canada states that no men should use marijuana if they wish to have children – it is right there on their website-and yet the government legalized this drug without telling men of the risk to their reproductive health.

  3. Multiple research projects in the 70’s and 80s chronicled in publications by journalist Peggy Mann (Pot Safari) revealed the same. Pot causes mutations in sperm which leads to still births and congenital abnormalities. Peggy Mann is deceased by used books are still available on Amazon the last I looked. .

  4. When I was married, my exhusband told me several times of the 3 different women that he’d gotten pregnant, (total of 4 pregnancies) , and that all of them had ended in miscarriage by 10 /12 weeks. He was 29 when we met, so this occurred in his younger years before we were together. He was an admitted heavy marijuana smoker.

In 2016, my oldest daughter lost a pregnancy woth her now husband . They had just found out they were pregnant 6W5D. Two days later she miscarriage. My son in law is a heavy marijuana smoker.

So yes, I fully believe that marijuana use, no matter how slight can cause a miscarriage.

  5. Thank you so much for doing this study. For so long the understanding around miscarriages were that it always had something to do with the women.

My partner is a chronic Marijuana smoker, at least 8 joints a day, plus ingesting it ontop of that for pain management.

He has had; 8 miscarriages with 3 different women all in the early stages of pregnancy.
We got his sperm tested (in canada, we are canadian) and the doctors basically disregarded his results because of his age and over all health.

Meanwhile I have had 3 miscarriages 2 of which were life threatening.

We have a daughter and previous to us conceiving her, he had stopped smoking/ingesting Marijuana for 3months.
    She is a healthy baby!

I have always suspected it was his intake of Marijuana that has contributed to these multiple miscarriages.
It is so relieving to know that there is some research being done and answers being given to those with the same question.
    So again, thank you.
