For the second year in a row, Joe DiNardo (SMG’06) will spend two days of his summer vacation biking across Massachusetts to raise money and awareness for HIV/AIDS.
DiNardo will participate in the Mass Red Ribbon Ride on August 12-13, a two day, 175-mile bike ride that starts in the Berkshires and ends in Boston. Participants can choose their ride length, but DiNardo says he will bike the full length of the route, 175 miles in two days. He will receive approximately $10 from sponsors from every mile he runs. Although he participates in a wide variety of sports, DiNardo says bike riding has always been a hobby.
When his friend Caroline Rast (CAS’06) told him about the Mass Red Ribbon Ride, he didn’t have to think twice. “The moment I heard about it, I had to do it,” he says.
“The people that participate are absolutely phenomenal,” says DiNardo. “They’re so dedicated to the things they do, and they’re so charitable.”
