Rene Vega, Jr. is enrolled in Boston University School of Social Work’s MSW program and plans to also pursue his MPH at Boston University with a concentration in Social & Behavioral Sciences.  He received his B.A. in Social Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles in 2006. Prior to coming to BU, Mr. Vega worked for the California Department of Public Health in the Communicable Diseases Branch as an Investigator. He has also worked as an In-Home Counselor where he provided case management. Rene’s research interests are in health disparities in minority populations, LGBT population health and HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment.
