Research Assistant
Email: sigw@bu.edu

Steven Garte-Wolf has a B.A. in Anthropology and is a current full-time MSW student with a clinical focus. He has CITI certification for research, and attended the ethnographic field school at Northwestern University.  He has worked primarily in anthropology before coming to BU to pursue his MSW in clinical social work.  His research areas include research and clinical practice with underserved and “invisible” populations such as clients with HIV, substance abuse, mental illness, and underserved minorities such as those within the LGBT community.  Mr. Garte-Wolf is currently working on obtaining his group work specialization and has presented at the American Anthropological Association (November 2009) and featured as a student presenter at the AAA conference and in the February 2009 issue of Anthropology News. He hopes to bridge social work with anthropology by using clinical experience and research skills.
