Proposals accepted for APHA Annual Meeting
The Center for Addictions Research and Services is pleased to announce that two abstracts were accepted to the American Public Health Association’s Annual Meeting in Philadelphia November 7-11, 2009.
“Implementation of evidence-based substance abuse treatment by community-based organizations: Preliminary results from a national study” describes community-based organizations’ (CBOs) variations in organizational responses to federally-funded evidence-based treatments (EBTs). This national study is funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
“Factors associated with recent incarceration in a Latina/o criminal justice sample” discusses the association between housing status and maternal contact, public assistance, and recent incarceration of drug-using adult Latina/o women and men in Massachusetts.
“Differences in mental health symptoms and attempted suicide among Puerto Rican drug users in Puerto Rico and Massachusetts” was accepted for an oral presentation and is authored by Luz Lopez, PhD, MSW, MPH; Abigail Ross, MSW; Deborah Chassler, MSW; and Lena Lundgren, PhD.
