Gerald Posner: Investigations and Conspiracies

Investigative journalist Gerald Posner has shown a relentless drive through his extensive research process to get to the very heart of a subject. His literary output has covered a variety of subjects, but always in depth and always without fear of what he will uncover as his investigations play themselves out. This exhibition takes a look at some of the subjects that Mr. Posner has covered, from the infamous Nazi Doctor Josef Mengele up through the complex tale of the relationship between the governments of the United States and Saudi Arabia. The exhibition includes page proofs, manuscript fragments, photographs and research notes from Posner's works on Chinese "triads", WARLORDS OF CRIME: Chinese Secret Societies: the New Mafia (1988), exposing their hold over the billion dollar international heroin trade; HITLER'S CHILDREN: Sons and Daughters of Leaders of the Third Reich Talk About Themselves and their Fathers (1991), in which, through a series of interviews, Posner is able to present a very different approach to examining the Holocaust; WHY AMERICA SLEPT: The Failure to Prevent 9/11 (2003), an analysis of what went on behind the scenes within the U. S. Intelligence agencies and between government leaders in the time preceding the terrorist attacks; and most recently, SECRETS OF THE KINGDOM: The Inside Story of the Saudi-U.S. Connection (2005). Material from Mr. Posner's books on the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy an civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr., CASE CLOSED: Lee Harvey Oswald and the Assassination of JFK (1993) and KILLING THE DREAM: James Earl Ray and the Assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. (1999), are included in the exhibition, "ESPIONAGE: Intelligence, Secrets and Spies."

Located on the first floor of Mugar Memorial Library. The Exhibit runs through November 11 and can be viewed Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
