Mary-Louise Parker: A Profile In Acting
This exhibition showcases material from the collection of actress Mary-Louise Parker, a recent addition to the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center. The exhibition tracks the growth of the young actress' career from her Broadway debut in Prelude to a Kiss (1990); through her film career including Fried Green Tomatoes (1991) and Boys on the Side (1995) as well as her popular, and award winning, television performances in The West Wing, Angels In America and Weeds. The exhibition documents these various performances with Playbills, photographs, pages from annotated scripts, award certificates and other ephemera. There are personal notes from playwrights Paula Vogel (How I Learned to Drive) and Tony Kushner (Angels In America) as well as fellow performers Whoopi Goldberg and Mary Stuart Masterson. The exhibition presents an opportunity to glimpse into the life of a young actress whose career is very much on the rise.
Located on the first floor of Mugar Memorial Library. The Exhibit runs through March 11 and can be viewed
