BLACK AND WHITE AND READ ALL OVER: Comic Art and Artists

This exhibition celebrates the world of comic strip art and the artists who draw them. Beginning with British satirist James Gillray and the socially conscious George Cruikshank, the exhibition includes work by Frederick Opper ("Happy Hooligan"); Robert Outcault ("Buster Brown"); Rudolph Dirks ("The Katzenjammer Kids"); Mort Walker ("Beetle Bailey"); Harold Gray ("Little Orphan Annie"); Al Capp ("Li'l Abner"); Hank Ketcham ("Dennis the Menace"); E. Simms Campbell (Esquire and Playboy); and the political cartoons of Pulitzer Prize-winner, Paul Szep. The exhibition features original panel art as well as printed examples of these artists' work; and presents us with a visual history of the art form.
