A Retrospective Exhibition of the Life and Work of Bette Davis

photo

Enjoy a rare glimpse of the original scripts, photographs, letters and awards that comprise this vast, comprehensive archival collection. Take a journey and experience both the public persona and the private life of one of the most enduring legends of the cinema.

This extraordinary exhibition presents a side of the renowned film star seldom experienced by her adoring audience. View the personal scrapbooks, first assembled by her mother and later by Miss Davis herself, with handwritten annotations explaining the context and relevance of each photograph or clipping. On exhibit are studio photographs and private snapshots, personal letters, early contracts, annotated scripts and much more. Relive some of your favorite iconic screen moments, and experience some of the personal triumphs and challenges through the items she personally saved and collected for over seven decades.

Located in the Frost Reading Room on the first floor of Mugar Memorial Library. The Exhibit can be viewed Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
