Research Interests & Fieldwork

I am interested in studying the impact that colonization had on the lives, cultures, and diets of both indigenous peoples and the colonists themselves. I have worked on research concerning the diet reconstruction of a brothel from the North End with Jade Luiz. I hope to do future work uncovering sites related to peoples that are either not represented or have a biased representation in the historical record. For example, slaves on plantations, indigenous peoples, and prostitutes.
