Dr. Mark Lehner director of the Giza Plateau Mapping Project in Giza, Egypt will be speaking on Complexity and Social Organization in Old Kingdom Egypt: A View from the 4th Dynasty Pyramid Towns at Giza. We are supplementing his lecture with two shorter lectures, one from Dr. David Carballo on Pyramids, Neighborhoods, and Households at Teotihuacan, Mexico: A Multiscalar Perspective on Social Organization, and one from Dr. Michael Danti on The Ziggurat and Temenos of Ur: Mesopotamian Sociopolitical Organization. These will be followed by a discussion featuring the three presenters.
